The med bay was, not surprisingly busy, first Rina was on the table. Jace was, for some reason that Sam didn't want to think too long on, handcuffed to the door.
“So how’s your first week with the crew been?” Jay asked.
Sam couldn't help but smile at the quip. "It's been - interesting."
The young woman had had worse but it was still a good word for it.
“Do you have anything that needs immediate attention, or can I finish up with Rina first?”
Jay's next question was met with Sam waving him off and a response of, "It's good. I can wait."
It seemed as if Jay was almost done with Rina, when Roman came in carrying Ilana. The Captain had a screwdriver sticking from her leg and was unconscious for whatever reason.
Rina had gotten off the table and headed out before Sam had a chance to speak with her but by the looks of it, Rina might need help in engineering, Sam would offer that help a little later.
It was about then Jay commented, “Shit, sorry Sam, I will get to you as soon as I can get Ilana stable.” He gave an apologetic wave to the girl who had been patiently waiting. “There are some pain meds in that drawer there if you need them”
Sam nodded, "Thanks."
The brunette went into the drawer, easily found the pain meds and took a few pills more to wave off the pain from banging her arm than the stab wounds. Waiting didn't bother her, especially when others were so obviously worse off, so she did just that without much comment.

Jay turned to Ilana and began examining her leg. “How did she knock herself out? Did she hit her head?”
"No, she didn't hit her head. When she fainted, I caught her and kept her from further injury. I believe it was the pain that rendered her unconscious. She was walking around the ship with that thing sticking out of her leg, like a maniac, and she put too much weight on it when she opened the view-port in the door to speak with our rescuers, Roman said.
Knowing Ilana's temper as he did, he added, "She should come around on her own, meaning she should probably have at least a local before you start to work, or she's going to come up swinging much like our dear Rina did, and she has a mean right hook."
Rina looked somewhat surprised when her eyes found the screwdriver embedded in Ilana's leg, and she said, "Thanks, Jay. I’m good for now.” With that, she disappeared from the room, only the bloodstained table marking that she was ever there.
Then he added, “Shit, sorry Sam, I will get to you as soon as I can get Ilana stable.” He gave an apologetic wave to the girl who had been patiently waiting. “There are some pain meds in that drawer there if you need them”
Sam nodded, "Thanks."
Sam immediately went for the pain meds while Jay tended to Ilana. To Jay, Roman asked, "Truly though, is it always this chaotic?"

Gi-Bae set his crew to work and headed for the infirmary. He'd reviewed the blueprints for a JoLynn and the infirmary should be up the stairs and around the corner to the right. Even though they've clearly made modifications, it should be the same general layout, he thought.
In the hallway, there was a small puddle of blood off to the right and drops and smears of blood along the left wall and on the floor. It looked like a horror scene.
Arriving in the infirmary, he found an unconscious man handcuffed to the door. The man matched the profile for the pilot. He didn't question that for now, and instead continued inside, as the man appeared mostly unhurt. Inside, he saw who he assumed to be the doctor examining Captain Logan, the man who'd carried her in, and a young woman who was clearly injured.
"My name is Dr. Kim, and if you'll allow it, I'm glad to take care of your injuries while the doctor assists your captain," he said to her.

Jay nodded to Rina’s response. He felt the urge to reassure her to come to him if anything else goes wrong, but like most of the crew she would just have to figure that out herself. Not that many of them do – lots of people tend to downplay their own injuries, Jay included. Rina bolted out of the med bay.
Turning to Ilana, he listened to Roman’s diagnosis. “Yeah, I believe that.” Jay added, referring to the mean right hook. He hadn’t been punched by Ilana, just screamed at. He got to work pulling out a local anesthetic and applying it. He then grabbed the tools to remove the screwdriver and repair that wound.
“Truly though, is it always this chaotic?” Roman asked.
“Ehhhh, kinda,” Jay said, “A lot of jobs tend to go awry in some way, but I’ll admit this is the first time I’ve had five people injured all at once.” He flashed a grin at Roman, “Welcome to the crew!”
Dr. Kim walked into the infirmary, announcing himself. Jay looked up and breathed a sigh of relief. “Thank God. Hi Dr. Kim, my name is Jay – I’m the medic on board.” He went into list-making mode as he spoke quickly and introduced everyone in the room, there wasn’t time for full introductions. “This is Roman, Sam in the corner, the guy handcuffed to the door is Jace, and our unconscious captain here is Ilana. Your help would be greatly appreciated. I have Ilana covered, but could you assist Sam if she needs anything? Otherwise, I haven’t had a chance to check Jace.”
Jay, wary as always, went back to tending to Ilana but kept his periphery on the new doctor.

Sam was downing two of the pills as Roman asked Jay, “Truly though, is always this chaotic?”
She just stood there as Jay responded. “Ehhh, kinda. A lot of jobs tend to go awry in some way, but I’ll admit this is the first time I’ve had five people injured all at once.”
Though all of this Sam was calm despite the chaos going on around the ship. It was just how she was, how she had trained herself to be. It would do no good to get upset over most things and she rarely had that luxury anyway.
Her eyes though were watching everything that was going on or trying to. A man walked in that appeared to be a doctor that was there to help. Jay went about explaining what was going on and who was who, and then the doctor came over to Sam and introduced himself.
“My name is Dr. Kim, and if you’ll allow it, I’m glad to take care of your injuries while the doctor assists your captain.”
“Sure,” Sam responded, without hesitation.
She didn’t know if Dr. Kim was going to patch her up there, in the infirmary or move to where there was more room. So, the brunette just waited on what the doctor said to do.

After the initial assessment of the people in the room, the first thing Gi-Bae noticed was the coppery scent of blood. His nose wrinkled in distaste involuntarily. The second thing he noticed was, despite the chaos of the situation, and a few things on the counter from the recent influx of injuries, he felt himself appreciating the immaculate organization of the infirmary. The drawers and cabinets were even neatly labeled.
At his appearance, relief flooded the ship's doctor's face. “Thank God," he sighed. "Hi Dr. Kim, my name is Jay – I’m the medic on board."
Jay went around the room quickly introducing those present, "This is Roman, Sam in the corner, the guy handcuffed to the door is Jace, and our unconscious captain here is Ilana. Your help would be greatly appreciated. I have Ilana covered, but could you assist Sam if she needs anything? Otherwise, I haven’t had a chance to check Jace.”
Gi-Bae gave the medic a nod of understanding and turned to Sam, who had agreed to let him treat her without hesitating. He carefully examined the bandages on her arm and leg and determined she'd done a good enough job patching herself up that she wasn't in danger of bleeding out so he took a quick look around the room to find what he needed. Luckily, he thought. Eden's medic may have a case of obsessive compulsion. His infirmary is organized better than my lab.
Impressed, Gi-Bae turned, saw blood on the exam table, presumably not Sam's or the captain's since Captain Logan was being treated on the counter, and decided to quickly wipe it down. He found the disinfectant wipes exactly where he expected to find them, and quickly cleaned the table. He tossed the wipes in the perfectly positioned waste bin and, with a small pang of jealousy, he faced Sam and said, "I need you to remove your pants and have a seat on the table if you're able to. If not, I can help you onto the table and just cut the pants."
He retrieved the dermal mender from the near the wall and wheeled its stand over to the exam table. He quickly readied the device and darted to the unconscious pilot. He bent down, took a tube filled with what was essentially a smelling salt wax concoction he'd made and waved it under Jace's nose. "Time to wake up, Princess," Gi-Bae said before returning to Sam in the corner. "Ready?" He asked.

Sam just kept an eye on the doctor, she had no issues with him examining her. Doctor Kim asked her to remove her pants or cut them and have a seat on the table. Being the pants were destroyed because the girl had to cut them to apply the bandage, cutting them more didn’t matter but it was likely easier to just remove the pants. However when Sam went to undo her snap a pain shot up her left arm, reminding the brunette the painkillers hadn’t fully kicked in yet.
Sam winced, taking in a sharp breath. “I think it’d be better if you cut them.”
Getting on the table wasn’t particularly difficult, as short as she was and despite her injuries, Sam was still fairly limber and had more strength in her arms than her petite body would show.
As the doctor went about retrieving the dermal mender and put what was likely some kind of smelling salts under Jace’s nose. “Time to wake up, Princess.”
The comment made Sam bite back a smile before Dr. Kim back over to her “Ready?” The man asked.
“Yes,” Sam responded.

Helios had left the infirmary after Jay ordered them out, forgetting about the illusion. He stumbled out and somehow ended up in the bridge. He looked out the window at the stars. He could feel the mushrooms effect wearing off but when he stared out into the black he felt was enveloped into soothing, soundless trance.
"Helios." A voice pierced the silence and he tried to see who it was but couldn't.
"Helios." The voice was closer now, it sounded familiar but he couldn't quite place it.
"I hear you." He spoke to the voice in hopes of a response.
"Helios, the disgrace of the Hamilton family." A second voice pitched in as he saw three objects floating in the black.
"The sad kid who ran from home." The third voice cut through and he recognized it instantly, it was Ellie.
"That's not how it was." Helios tried to keep a confident voice but he stuttered the sentence out.
"Abandoned his family when they need him." The second voice chimed in again, it was his mother's voice, he began to tear up when he saw what the objects in space were.
"I..." The bodies of his sister, his mother, and Ellie floated up and hit the glass.
"The heir to the syndicate, what a joke." The first voice spoke, his dead sister.
"You broke my heart." Ellie said as Helios approached the glass and placed his hand against the glass.
"I'm sorry, I'm sor-" the three of the screamed and began berating Helios. Helios stumbled back as they screamed at him hurling insults at him till he was shaking. Helios noticed how violent the shaking was as he collapsed. Helios stared at the ceiling while the shakes continued.

Sam indicated Gi-Bae should cut the pants and told him she was ready, so he set to work. First he cut away the material surrounding the injury, but otherwise left the pants intact. Then he cleaned the wound to determine the setting, and prepped the dermal mender. Watching the wound close always made Gi-Bae think of very slowly pouring wax. Obviously it was much more intricate than that; it wasn't really filling the wound with anything. It was essentially using nanotechnology to reconnect the severed fibers of dermis at the molecular level.
It was fully closed after 1 minute, and it was all but invisible after two. He pushed the dermal mender back a bit and cleaned off Sam's arm. It was much more shallow than her leg, but was deep enough that it couldn't just be bandaged. He closed her arm with the dermal mender as well, then returned the mender to the corner he'd retrieved it from. He returned to Sam and said, "Use care when bathing for a 5-7 days, and try not to fall or hit them on anything, or they could split open again, but you should be fine with normal duty."
He paused a moment and added, "You will be able to tell when you no longer need to use caution. It won't hurt much after today, but it will be more sensitive to sensation. Hot things will feel more hot, cold more cold, and general touch will be more intense. Once that fades, likely 3 or 4 days for the arm and 5 to 7 for the leg, you can resume any activities hampered by the need for caution."
He almost turned away, but remembered his bedside manner. "Do you have any questions for me?"

The patching of Sam’s arm and leg took no time, it was a far cry from having to make do with whatever happened to be around to help with the mending of such things. She watched as her arm mended under the dermal mender.
The doctor’s instructions for care seemed easy enough to remember. When he asked if there were any questions. Sam thought for a moment before responding. The pain in her arm was down to a dull throbbing, and the brunette wondered if it would be worth it to get it also looked at. There was an old injury in that arm from where she once broke it but wasn’t in a position to get it mended properly. It would show - would he ask?
“I don’t have any questions about the wounds but I should probably have this arm looked at,” Sam indicated her left arm. “I’m pretty sure I banged it pretty hard earlier.”
Dr. Kim was aware of what had happened so the fact that the young woman didn’t exactly recall banging her arm and just knew it hurt a lot shouldn’t have come as a surprise.

“I don’t have any questions about the wounds but I should probably have this arm looked at,” Sam indicated her left arm. “I’m pretty sure I banged it pretty hard earlier.”
Dr. Kim gave Sam a smile and said, "Of course."
He turned and retrieved the med-comp from the corner exactly where he expected to find it. He side-eyed the ship's doctor respectfully and wheeled the med-comp over to Sam. He flattened the imager over Sam's arm and powered it on. He pressed the button to scan. Blue light bathed her arm and her arm appeared on screen. He tapped the screen and the image changed to show her radius and ulna.
Dr. Kim recognized an old break in each arm. The break in the radius, the bigger of the two arm bones, appeared to have been a stable fracture that healed fairly well. The one in the the ulna, however, appeared to have been a comminuted fracture that didn't heal as well, or wasn't properly set. The arm didn't appear to have been re-broken or broken in any other places, but it's no surprise that it hurt quite a lot after hitting it so hard.
He pointed the breaks out to Sam and said, "This old injury is the source of much of the pain in that area." He highlighted the edges of the bones, and continued, "These edges would have made you much more susceptible to subdermal bruising."
He tapped the screen and it showed a very similar image to an MRI. While the bones were in shades of grey, there was bright white shown in the muscle area surrounding the break. He said, "This white around the bone is bruised muscle tissue. The bruise just hasn't made it to the surface yet. Being this deep, it may not show on the surface at all. It will be tender for several weeks, but it will slowly heal during that time. It shouldn't prevent you from working or anything, but if you lift anything very heavy during that time, you'll notice a twinge."
He hesitated for a moment, then said, "I expect you know this, but this appears to have healed well over a year ago without being properly set. Setting the bone now would require a fairly extensive surgery. Because it's been healing for that long, we can't just manually break the arm. It would have to be sawn apart now, or lasered in a core hospital, which would require you to be sedated. While it can be done on the ship with the tools we have, I don’t recommend it. When separating a healed break, there's a possibility that it will cause a fat embolism. While that's rare, if it happens outside of a hospital, you will definitely die, so it's best not to risk it. I can recommend something for pain that your doctor should have on the ship, given how well stocked he and the captain appear to keep it, but I won't be able to fix it."
He powered down the machine and set it to right before returning it to its rightful place. "Did you need me to check anything else, or have any other questions?"

Of course he noticed the break but fortunately didn’t ask about how it happened or more why she didn’t get help for it. The explanation as to what would have to happen to really fix it made sense but Sam would prefer to avoid hospitals. It wasn’t an injury she couldn’t live with anyway. After all, she had lived with it this long.
“No, nothing else. Thanks. I’ll take the meds though.” She waited just long enough to be handed the meds before exiting the med bay and going to find Rina.

The doctor said nothing and got to work, which left Jay able to fully focus on the captain's unconscious body. Removing the screwdriver was tricky, he had to do it in such a fashion that it didn't damage any additional tissue as it came out. With a little pressure around and going not too slow, but not too fast either, it came out pretty easily. Jay quickly cleaned the area and applied some antibiotics. Once the wound was cleaned and bandaged, he went to making Ilana more comfortable for when she finally awoke. A crappy pillow under her head was all he could manage - she most likely passed out from exhaustion or adrenaline overdose since the screwdriver prevented enough blood loss that she wouldn't have passed out from it. The only cure for that was slow movement and lots of water. The dermamender would help, but Jay wanted to wait for the antibiotics to do their thing first - no telling what sort of germs were on that screwdriver.
Jay was passively listening to the new doctor assess Sam. Anything that may need future tending to, he wanted to be aware of it. He unconsciously set his hand on the fresh new bite mark on his arm. It still stung, but was only a mild annoyance. He turned his attention to Jace to see if he was beginning to wait.

Rina made it to her quarters without running into anyone, much to her relief. She knew there were strangers aboard Eden and she disliked sympathy from strangers even more than from people she knew. To say nothing of any well-meant but awkward questions she'd have to face.
What happened to you?
Hey, you should'a seen the other guy …
Once inside and behind her locked door, her torn bloodied clothes hit the floor in exchange for fresh ones. She had her hand on a clean shirt when she reconsidered. She grabbed a water bottle from her stash, cracked the seal, and wetting down a clean bandana, got to work removing all the dried blood Jay hadn't time to wipe off.
Threads of the red stuff had dried on her hands and legs, peeking past the bandages on her knuckles, fingers, knees, and toes. It had painted trails down her neck, behind her ears, gumming up her hairline at forehead …
"God, it's everywhere." Rina frowned at her reflection in her locker mirror and kept on scrubbing. In the end it took two bottles and two bandanas to remove it all. It also took some time, due to the care required to keep her bandages dry, but she got it done. The bloodied clothing and the bandanas got kicked to a spare corner. She'd launder them later.
Bending over to get a leg into her cargos made her head swim. Rina used the bulkhead at her back for support and got those cargos on. A sports bra and long sleeved tee went on next. She'd just gotten her arms and head through the right openings when she had to stop and wait for her quarters to stop spinning.
Deep breaths helped. Sipping water from yet another bottle also helped. Her bed beckoned, promising comfort and a chance to lie prone.
"Not yet," she told it. She'd make one round about the decks, inspecting Eden for damage and running up a chore list. Only then would she take her bed up on its offer. Rina pursed her lips, considered her bandaged toes and wondered if she had any boots that would fit. Maybe the rattiest ones she'd saved for the really nasty jobs? The leather would be stretched out just a little more than her current pair. She pulled them from the back of her locker and eyed them.
They'll do.
Rina wisely sat down before putting them on, thanking all the gods that were listening for the miracle of zippers. Two shakes and she was back on her feet and out the door. She grabbed a tablet on the way out and slid the stylus free. She paused on the threshold to lock up.
One trip round our girl, then I'll rest …

Jace held steady watching his breathing. The purple bellies had become smarter against guerrilla warfare. Their grunts had begun wearing the officer uniforms while important officers were deployed in the field. The scout unit hadn't been able to get this close to the villa that housed the central command. They had lost so many troops this was out of desperation with loss of their central command they believed they could take the capital of planet, it could be just the thing they needed to turn the tide in this sector. His brother nudged him and gave the coords to who he believed was the commander. He looked young, smothered in dirt black hair short, but Jace noticed it. His hands clean and spick no dirt no residue. Jace took a deep breath as more gunfire erupted near the city gate.
"Gorram!" his brother hissed quietly. "They attacked the wrong section they're too close. Jace were pulling the unit out!"
"Not yet I got the shot." Jace breathed deep as the familiar howl tore through the night sky!
Jace was grabbed by his waist and shoulder strap and thrown the shot going wide the ear splitting whistle piercing the sound barrier as he stared above to the night erupting into a torrent of fire and death. The heat melting part of the materials off his body or becoming one with his own skin as flesh began to peel as he fell through the night. The last visual he had was the look of his brothers face as the fire wrapped his body into the caress of death and then darkness.
Jace didn't feel as the metal tore through his body, nor was he awake as his back crashed into the alcove he was thrown down onto. The victory over the capital didn't change the outcome of the war, but it gave a boost of confidence that led to more lives being lost to the war we were doomed to lose.
Jace groggily woke seeing the metal room he knew he was back in the hospital. He felt that had been so long ago why was the war still going. He had to get back! Jace tried to jump up and return to the hill the battle his brother! He yelped in pain as his shoulder felt like it tore from his body and he slammed back to the floor. His mouth so dry he spit some cloth from his mouth. He must be a prisoner not again! Wait Jace wasn't a prisoner till he was shot from the sky.
Jace steadied himself and looked around the room was filled with familiar faces, and some he never recognized. His shoulder burned and screamed at him as he tried to get up again slowly but could get above a certain height. He was cuffed to a door.
"Jay what in the gorram hell is going on!" Jace growled angrily his head was killing him and he needed water badly he felt.

Once the antibiotics were set, Jay wrapped up Ilana’s wound. She was still out, he checked her eyes and vitals, she was fine, but he didn’t want to risk waking her up in case the adrenaline had a negative affect. He hooked her up to a small vital reader so he could make sure nothing was happening internally that wasn’t supposed to. If she wasn’t awake in the next few minutes, he’d take action.
Jace seemed to stir, and Jay cautiously looked over. He stood up, but was pulled to the ground immediately by the cuffs. “Jace..?” Jay asked.
It took him a moment to regain consciousness and realize where he was. Jay breathed a sigh of relief when he asked what was happening.
“You were a little violent during your hallucination,” Jay grabbed a bottle of water and brought it to him. He crouched down and reached to undo the handcuff.
“Wait… you’re not going to bite me again are you?” It was mostly in jest, but there was a tinge of caution in his voice.

Ilana sprinted the length of the corridor toward the airlock as fast as she could. She could hear heavy boots pounding the metal floor behind her. The corridor stretched out before her. The airlock door was so close. She pumped her legs as hard as she could.
“You were… violent… -cination,” Jay's voice filtered in from down the hall.
"Jay!" She screamed, but she made no sound.
"… you’re not… bite… are you?”
Her heart was pounding in her ears, head throbbing, vision darkening. A piercing, high-pitched, beeping started shrieking from somewhere behind her. Breathing hard, panicked, she ran but she could feel herself slowing, which only exacerbated the fear wrapping itself around her like an old friend.
She came awake all at once, eyes wide, with a terrified gasp. She shot bolt upright, looking around wildly for a moment before realizing she was in the infirmary… Jay had his back to her by the door. On the counter? She swung her legs over the edge, preparing to stand, and realized she didn't have a lot of feeling in her leg. She braced her arms on the counter and realized the shrill beeping that had woke her up had been from the monitor she was connected to. She yanked off the leads and braced her arms on the counter. She let her head hang for a moment, breathing hard, regaining control of herself more easily now that remembered what happened.
"Gorram… my head is killing me…" she said to herself, heartrate slowing bit by bit. Her breathing felt shaky, but it had slowed considerably as well. "Jay… why am I on the counter?" She finally spotted Jace. "And why is the pilot handcuffed to the doors?"

“No, nothing else. Thanks. I’ll take the meds though," Sam said.
Dr. Kim easily found the cabinet the pain meds were in and shook a handful into an empty bottle, capped it, and handed it to the young woman. She carefully slid from the table to her feet and left immediately. Dr Kim replaced the bottle in the cabinet where he got it from.
A place for everything and everything in its place, he thought, closing the cabinet door. The ship's doctor seemed to be finishing up with his patient and he went to check on the man handcuffed to the door. Somehow, Dr. Kim had forgotten they'd handcuffed the pilot to the door. The pilot looked a bit worse for wear and his face wrenched in pain when he tried to stand and the handcuff stopped him mid motion.
"Jace..?" The doctor asked, clearly speaking to the pilot.
"Jay what in the gorram hell is going on!" the pilot growled.
“You were a little violent during your hallucination,” Jay grabbed a bottle of water and brought it to him. He crouched down and reached to undo the handcuff.“Wait… you’re not going to bite me again are you?” Jay continued, sounding both jovial and hesitant.
Dr. Kim turned to head toward the pair when the monitor attached to the captain began shrieking loudly just before she violently exploded from her slumber. "I'll tend to her, so you can continue taking care of your pilot," Dr. Kim said.
Her legs swung over the edge of the table, but instead of standing, she yanked the leads off and braced herself on the counter, appearing to be either on the verge of fainting again or vomiting. Dr. Kim went around the table toward her.
"Gorram… my head is killing me…" she said softly. He veered off, grabbed the pain medicine and a bottle of water from the cooler Jay had retrieved one from for Jace. "Jay… why am I on the counter?" She asked as Dr. Kim approached her. "...And why is the pilot handcuffed to the doors?"
"Captain," Dr. Kim began soothingly. "You are on the counter because when you were brought in, the table was otherwise occupied by your engineer. Your pilot is handcuffed to the door because he became violent during his hallucination and attacked your doctor." He held out the bottle of water and two of the pills from the bottle and added, "For your headache, and the pain in your leg," he said.
She looked confused for a moment. "I know your leg doesn't hurt yet, but I can assure you that it will very shortly. The local anesthetic you were given will last about 6 minutes longer before it begins wearing off, and it will wear off very rapidly once it starts. You had a screwdriver embedded in your leg to the hilt, so it will hurt quite badly for a couple of days. It will hurt for less once the doctor uses the dermal mender. I'm assuming he didn't because, well, it was a screwdriver on the floor of a spaceship. I can't imagine it was clean. Most likely wants to make sure the antibiotics have a chance to take hold before sealing the wound, and potential pathogens with it."
He went to the tall cabinet in the corner and found a plain, black walking cane. He brought it back to her and said, "You'll need to use this for a day or two until your doctor is able to use the dermal mender. So long as there are no signs of infection within 24-48 hours there shouldn't be any more reason not to proceed."
He took a step back and to everyone he said, "If no one else has any questions for me, I should return to my people to help them finish the scrub. The spores should be fully neutralized with the compound we put through the atmo processors, however it's best not to risk it where genetically modified fungi are concerned so we will also be running a clean sweep of the entire ship to ensure no spores are left behind."

Jace couldn't help but stare at Jay in confusion.
"Bite you? Why in the gorram hell would I bite you, wait again?" Jace was uncomfortably confused, but he reached out and grabbed the water as he began to drown his confusion in what felt like the most delicious thing he ever tasted. The water didn't seem to be touching his thirst as he guzzled the bottle down. Jace barely noticed as he was referred to about his current situation of being cuffed to the door.
Jace couldn't help but grin a bit as he did a little finger wave with his cuffed hand. Wincing a bit as his muscles tensed up at the uncomfortable angle.
"Hey Cap'n, know where I can get out of these cuffs? I am generally not the one to wear these." Jace made an ragged chuckle as his thirst remained, but was tolerable what wasn't was the head splitting headache that he had, and why did he keep spitting cloth out of his mouth. Jace's mouth was dry but the cloth was a bit much. Jace settled back down to his seated position as he couldn't stand the awkward squatting he was doing as he let some guy drone on about spores.
Jace peaked his interested in the doctor asked if there was anymore questions.
"Yea I got question. Do we still get paid for this gorram trip or what we didn't mess with no cargo. As much as I enjoyed memory lane I wanted compensation for our attempt at the job." Jace gruffly spit that last bit out and tried not to show his annoyance too much. Afterall Jace did want to be paid for this botched job and he was sure this wasn't the crews fault for whatever mushroom soup this guy let them get into.
