The Dusk Bearer is the Vykaar’s second ship. The first vessel they had was significantly smaller, and had two grapple claws. But as time went on Vykaar’s tribe began to expand, and his ambitious desires to please the gods of slaughter and death, which he worships without question, caused him to strive to find a more suitable vessel for he and his people. After having become very quick and brutal killers they stumbled upon the Icthiya Class Cruiser Juniks Leg II. The vessel was being used as a large freighter, and had a very small crew, which put up very little fight when Vykaar’s vessel which had been filled to the brim with Reavers boarded it. The former inhabitants were used as sacrifice and converts, and what was left over in the cargo hold was jettisoned out into space.
With the new vessel Vykaar and his followers began move about space as they had before, only now they were able to carry many more of their people. Battles going on between those who were unworthy of the sight that the gods had given Vykaar and his people (non Reavers) left many weapons and items to be used by he and his followers. The vessel was turned into a mobile representation of Vykaars power and devotion to his gods. From here many assaults, both large and small, have been conducted from the Blue Sun all the way to Kalidasa, the most famous of which being the brutal and sudden attack on the city Za-Za on Greenleaf on April 30, 2517.
The Dusk Bearer, as it has been named by some of the fringe Reaver Conspiracy Tracking Groups, is an easily recognized Reaver vessel. Not only because of it’s size, but because of it’s habits. The Dusk Bearer can be found attacking major shipping lanes at times, which many Reaver ships choose to avoid. This is obviously because the vessel is so heavily armed and doesn’t fear retaliatory strikes in the way that other ships do. It will always use speed and power to it’s advantage as it brings down transports or towns throughout the Rim and Border. Although no command structure or tactics have ever been witnessed by surveillance satellites, the vessel itself has been sited on many occasions. The Alliance has declared the ship a myth, and the incidents that which it is supposedly connected to written off as the acts of pirates, criminals, and militant groups.
The vessel will at times be seen alone, or may be accompanied by several smaller vessels. Vykaar does not like non believers in his faith, and will often force others to leave his vessels side if they show they will not follow his beliefs. Namely this comes down to rituals performed on those they hunt and capture, as Vykaar demands all of those captured be given to his tribe. Other various rituals are performed on the ground, and while not all in his tribe follow his mad faith, they still follow him out of fear of his strength and ability. The precise number in his tribe is not known, but it is believed to numbers in the thousands.
