Bishop and Bobo walked down the dirt street at the North West end Eavedown. It had been a little over half an hour since they had left the Sohop Bar, and in that time Bishop had already accomplish the more difficult portion of his "To Do List" which was hire on a secondary mechanic. He had already called the ship and told Andy and Hoffman back on the ship to be expecting the arrival of that new mechanic as well as the passengers they would be taking with them. He had told them to start breaking out the old war bunks that they had kept from years ago back when the Logan was acting as a troop transport. There would be plenty of room on the ship to hold the large quantity of passengers that were expected, though it might not be as comfortable in terms of sleeping arrangement.
Now however, Bishop had another task to handle, and that was the supplies that were required to maintain them. He had enough food in his stocks to hold over his crew for about another week, but he was going to have upwards of 19 people on board this time instead of his usual 5. And so they were going to pick up enough supplies to last them the duration of the trip. They were going to one of the larger vessel suppliers, 'Jacobi's'. It supplied a large assortment of vessels, even an Alliance Corvette on occasion. That was where Bishop intended on purchasing the goods he needed there. He had a good idea as to what he was looking to purchase, but he would get a better idea when he saw what was in stock.
Bishop and Bobo came up to the front of a large permanent, which was funny considering most of the buildings in Eavesdown looked like they'd get knocked over if you spat on it to hard. But standing outside of the building, was a scraggly looking thin man, with short brown hair and a dopey looking smile on his face. He wore a black shirt that had no sleeves, and brown pants. Bishop and Bobo approached him, but didn't stop walking. Instead Bishop kept walking forward and the man started walking at his left.
"Scruggs, What i tell you about smilin in public?" Bishop said in a rhetorical sense. "Sorry Bishop, but I started making arrangements on our supply pick up based on your capacity estimate. " Scruggs said. The three of them entered into the building, but even though it looked large, there was no back wall. Instead it just revealed a large depot which had hundreds of large metal containers all stacked and organized very well. Scruggs lead them to a large man, in his late 40's and wearing a brown duster coat with somewhat long greased brown hair, who was holding a clipboard in his hand. They stopped in front of him and the man recognized Scruggs. "I'll presume your captain of the.... Logan?" The man said in a rough voice which had a very thick Scottish accent. "That I am, Captain Morse. My crewmen here placed an order." Bishop said in compliance. "That he did, that he did. That and you requested it to be loaded within two hours correct." The man asked. "That is correct, mind if i take a look at the ordered items?" Bishop replied. The man quickly held out the clip board, which had a large amount of data scrolling up and down it. He tapped on the screen of it and it brought up a list of the items that were purchased. Bishop took the list and skimmed through it.
There was a large assortment of food items. It was all primarily things that would last a long time, but there was a good variety to it. Bishop wasn't sure how long the large amount of people would be staying on his vessel so he prepared for a months stay, and if it was a shorter stay then he would be able to use it himself. He brought up the price list and suddenly was taken back. "Says here your pricin' it at 70c, am i readin that right?" Bishop asked somewhat taken back. The man looked back at him, took the clip board from him and checked it. "Yes sir, you would be correct." The man said sternly, knowing that a haggle was soon to follow. "What's that all about, last time we came through here, almost got twice that amount, what kinda Poisen are you tryin to push on us?" Bishop asked confused. Bobo had a look on him like he was ready for a fight, but that wasn't Bishop's intention. "Look son, there's quite a bit a mauradin what's been goin on the rim where these supplies are produced. And the Federals been steppin up on their checkin, makin it harder to get honest goods here anyhow. And on the last addition you need it all on your ship within 2 hours, which would add to the loadin fee as is. So you want to keep arguein, you can ask around for another Depot what sells goods as good as we do." The man was very strong in his explanation, not leaving any sign that this was a negotiable point. "Alright, I wasn't meanin much to argue, just wantin to know why my pockets gonna be feelin a bit empty today's is all. Who do I pay that out too?" Bishop asked, with his smug look about it, not letting any weakness show either. "You could pay that to me right now, the items are already bein prepared to be loadin onto your vessel." The man replied. Bishop reached into his coat pocket to the money that 'Cat' had handed him earlier. Scruggs was taken back by the amount of money that Bishop was just walking around with, as it was rather surprising. Bishop counted out the payment and handed it to the large scottsman. He too counted it and then placed it into his coat pocket, and wrote something down on the clip board. "Very good sir, it's been a pleasure doin business with you, your order will be loaded onto your vessel by the specified time." The large man said. "Alright, you keep to state a fancy yourself sir." Bishop said with a nod to the man.
The three men then walked back out the way they came. Bobo had lowered the rifle and just kept it over his shoulder. Scruggs's dopey smile returned to his face, and Bishop reached into his coat, grabbed the flask, and took a drink from it. As usual the scent of 'homebrew' filled the air. Scruggs and Bobo both were accustomed to the taste and smell themselves so there were no complaints. But the moment Bishop put the flask away he quickly snapped out a comment at Scruggs "What I tell you about smilin in public Scruggs?" Bishop said, in the exact same tone as earlier. "Sorry Bishop." Scruggs replied, and they continued walking down the dirt street.
