Ivy shrieked as Helios put a rattlesnake on the table, the only thought in her head being: This guy is insane. She jumped out of her chair, watching as the pretty girl from earlier threw a drink in Helios's face and a bearded man hit him with a chair. All hell broke loose, and she darted towards a table, slipping a bit on a drink that had been thrown. She hauled herself on top of it, staying well out of the way. Still, she armed herself with a broken bottle: just in case.

Ilana tensed as the redhead stalked toward their table, but she kept her hands in plain sight so she decided to let it play out. Then a rattlesnake landed on the table from Helios's pocket and she shouted, "What the fuck man?!"
Ivy shrieked and bolted, slipping on the spilled drink. Ilana'd nearly forgotten the redhead when the shouting started and a drink splashed in his face. Ilana laughed out loud, even as she was jumping to her feet to get away from the snake. Ivy climbed onto a table beside theirs, smashed the end of a bottle off, and stood armed to defend herself.
"Who are you and what the hell was that for?" he yelled in the doxy's face as he jumped to his feet.
The man that had been with the doxy earlier appeared with a chair and smashed it across Helios' shoulder. Ilana sprang into action and took a swing at the same time as Helios. Helios' blow glanced off the man's jaw as he ducked, and Ilana hit Helios square in the mouth.

Hissing at the goram snake flopped down on the table. Before Jace could even say anything most of the crew had their own opinions to chime about the damn thing. The next thing Jace knew the pretty little doxy came up and slung a drink into Helios' face. By the sounds of it the girl knew Helios. Helios yelled at the girl before getting ambushed by getting hit with a chair, followed by a mean hook by the Captain.
"Shun sheng duh gao wahn!" Jace yelled he threw a punch towards the guy who hit Helios in the back. Jace hadn't been in a bar fight in a while and last one gave the culprit a nasty scar on his cheek from his knife, but he didn't feel threatened enough to pull weapons yet. Jace connected against the man's jaw. Unsteady on his feet from the drinks he had he stepped back and tried to scan the room for other potential threats...besides the Captain of course throwing punches at the wrong people.

Holly watched as the pink haired man landed a glancing blow on Jake's jaw, then the angry woman in the corner swung at Jake too but Jake managed to dodge it, causing her swing to land on the pink haired man's mouth instead. When a second man stood and landed a blow on Jake's jaw, Holly ran. She knew this was going sideways and she wanted no part in the aftermath. She grabbed her coat off of the bar and ran like hell out the door.

Jake felt the glancing blow from the pink haired man, but the second one from the other man nearly knocked him off of his feet. He'd clearly underestimated these people. He saw Holly running for the hills and even as he was getting angry at her, he couldn't blame her. They were badly outnumbered, and she wasn't exactly a fighter in the first place. He whirled around to swing on the man who'd nearly knocked him off of his feet and stopped dead in his tracks at the mountain of a man standing in front of him with a piece of wood shrapnel sticking out of his cheek. He looked pissed. He started backpedaling.

Rina had been keeping a weather eye on the redhead at the bar while Ilana dealt with the crew. So Rina saw the redhead make her move, sliding off her barstool and sauntering over. Rina slid to the edge of her own seat and got ready.
Ready for what, exactly, Rina didn't know exept whatever it was, it would be trouble: the redhead had that look.
So of course, when the drink hit Helios, she had already half-risen to her feet. When the snake hit the table, however, Rina acted without thinking: she grabbed the snake even as Ivy shrieked and leapt away. When the chair hit Helios, Rina was backing away from the fracas, her attention riveted on the thrashing reptile she held in her left hand. The snake was very displeased and hissed, gaping its mouth wide and extending its fangs. Rina's grip on the snake was behind its plump viperous head and her fingers (and the rest of her) was out of range of its jaws.
Nevertheless, three feet-plus of hissing, thrashing snake would give any bar brawler pause and Rina calculated her best route to the nearest exit. She ducked aside as Ilana's swing went wide of its mark and landed on Helio's unfortunate chin and tried not to terrorize the next table over (because: snake!) as she tried to get around the fight blooming in front of her.

Helios stumbled back again, rubbing his jaw a bit as Ilana had just socked him in the jaw.
"Watch it!" He yelled at Ilana, as he watched Jace hit that bastard, and watched Rina grab his snake and back up, Helios attempted to charge and knock that guy over, while interlocking his hands to try to slam his fists into that hellspawn that hit him with the chair. He caught glimpse of the redhead leaving, after this guy, he's going after her.

Jay, like the others, gasped and jumped back at the snake suddenly sitting on the table. He snatched his drink up before it could knock the shotglass onto the ground. Before he knew it, someone had thrown a drink in Helios’ face – Jay looked incredulously at the pink-haired kid wondering what he had done to get a stranger to accost him. Then, another man came up and wailed on Helios with a gorram chair, causing a loud “Whoa, what the fuck!!” to come out of Jay’s mouth.
Ilana and Helios responded lightning quick, though some quick maneuvering on the stranger’s part left the captain missing her target and hitting Helios. Jace was the next to throw a punch, thankfully landing the blow. Jay, stunned, had stepped back a few with his hand instinctively going to his gun, careful not to grab it or pull it out but keep his fingers near just in case. Once he saw Jace step up, Jay silently was grateful that he didn’t have to get involved yet – the girl had ran out the door and the other guy began to backpedal pretty quickly. Unless they came back with reinforcements, that is.

Louis was holding the pool cue in his hand, bent over for the shot, when he heard a woman screeching, clearly pissed off that someone had a one night stand and never called her again. He rolled his eyes and turned around just in time to see a man with a chair coming up behind the guy the woman was shouting at. The chair smashed into his back making him stumble, and the back of the chair shattered, sending bits of wood flying in all directions.
He felt something sear across his face and a burst of pain spread out like fire in his cheekbone. He put a hand to his face and it came away bloody. He balled up his fists, realizing the pool cue was still in his hand and threw it to the ground.
He stalked across the room to the man, seething and the man with the chair knew it. He began back pedaling fast. The man who'd been hit with the chair hammer-fisted him in the chest and he tripped over his own feet and landed on his arse. As he got closer, he noticed the man who'd been hit had pink hair. The man stood over the other and Louis brushed him away.
Louis bent over, grabbed the guy who'd swung the chair by his shoulders, and hauled him to his feet. He struggled weakly for a moment. Louis turned to the side and launched him across the room, He hit the wall with a sickening thud, and collapsed to the floor. Louis eyed the others for a minute before pulling the sliver of wood from his cheek and tossing it on the ground. Without so much as a word, he stalked back to the pool table, picked up his cue, and took his shot.

"Shun sheng duh gao wahn!" Jace yelled, hitting the man with the chair just after Ilana socked Helios. "Son of a bitch!" She shouted, catching sight of the redhead hightailing it out the door. She made a quick mental note to beat the snot out of her if she caught her out somewhere. Jay managed to get himself out of the way, but not before rescuing his drink from the table.
The man started backpedaling, she guessed because he realized just how screwed he was. Then Helios hit the guy with both fists, causing him to stumble back. Tripping on his own feet, he fell hard on his arse. Ilana turned and felt the blood drain from her face as she caught sight of what the guy was really trying to get away from. The guy had to be at least 6 1/2 feet tall, built like a wild man, and bearing right down on them, a piece of wood sticking from his cheek with a thin line of blood running down his face to his collar.
God I hope he's not with the chair guy, Ilana thought.
The guy sailed right past her like he didn't even notice she was there, brushed Helios out of the way, grabbed the man and threw him across the room. She visibly flinched at the sound he made when he hit the wall, immediately unconscious. She turned back to the huge man and watched him yank the wooden barb from his cheek and walk back to his pool table like nothing happened.
She blinked after him, wondering for a moment if that really happened. "What in the actual fuck?" She said. "Why is it that every time we try to celebrate any damn thing, someone has to get the shit kicked out of them?"
She turned back to their table and saw Rina holding the gorram snake that she'd completely forgotten about in the fracas. It was clearly pissed. She closed her eyes for a second, "Wèishéme méiyǒu dōngxī néng biàn dé guānghuá?"
She downed her full glass of bourbon and looked around for a moment wondering what the hell had just happened?

Jace had just stepped back and began to grin as Helios pummeled the gorram idiot into the stomach. The room oddly feeling as if it was shrinking by the second, shadows appearing to form. He had begun to wonder if he truly had drunk too much already. The droplets of blood he saw hit the table as someone began to get past him. Jace looked around and froze. Jace was skilled in hand to hand combat and the man looked him in the eyes, but he was surely three times his size.
"Wo cao..." Jace muttered silently in utter defeat. He knew he was done for, but damn he wished he had finished his bottle before it got shattered. Wincing and closing his eyes Jace felt the shadow lumber past him and almost shove Helios out of the way. The monstrosity before him grabbed the man who started the fight and launch him into the wall with ease. The loud crunch and the dead weight that just collapsed with it made him look awfully corpsified, not that Jace cared. The man pulled the offending splinter from his cheek that left a nasty cut and went back to his game.
Jace almost jumped at Ilana swearing towards him, and then he remembered the gorram snake. He was going to have to talk to this moonbrained navigator, or replace his brainpan one. Looking over at Jay he checked him up and down and nodded towards the man to see if he was alright. He also subtly stepped away from Rina who had the snake with her still, and he was not about that kind of life.
Jace had to respond due to Ilana's outburst, whether the liquid courage or just his nature.
"Dear Captain I do believe you enjoy tian fan di fu or this crew just attracts alot of it." Jace eyed her as she downed the rest of her bourbon, surprisingly enough minus the first impression Helios actually still had his drink on the table. Shrugging Jace grabbed it and down it, and almost let it come back up. No wonder the boy was pickled.
"Anyone see where that hu li jing went?" Jace spoke lightly almost gagging at the foul drink he just sole from Helios.

"You mean that redheaded suka? Don't know, don't care." Rina snorted, her disgust pretty damned clear.
Keeping a firm hold on the snake's head, she grasped its tail with her free hand and started unwrapping the snake from her forearm. She picked her way carefully over to Helios, then gave him a wry twist of her lips and a raised eyebrow as she held his snake out to him. "You might want to put your snake away, sir. You're scaring the women and children."
Double entendre? Maybe.
Annoyed? Most definitely.

The large man brushed past him and launched the guy who hit Helios with chair into the wall, there was a loud crunch and he dropped, probably dead. Helios walked over to the table, his shoulder and jaw still a bit sore as he walked over gathering his things.
"You might want to put your snake away sir. You're scaring the women and children." Rina said as he grabbed the angry snake from her and put it in the pocket with the pocket heater. He walked out of the bar to cold air of Beylix, he walked over to a seat outside as he didn't think anyone else was going to attack him outside.

Rina watched Helios leave, her eyes narrowing thoughfully. The kid was a trouble magnet, no doubt, but from what Rina could see, the trouble tonight was undeserved.
"Captain?" Rina called softly Ilana's way. "If it's all right, I think I'll go get some air."
In truth, she didn't want to be here when the cops showed up or when the bar exploded into violence over the possible-corpse what got thrown against the wall. She eyed the blood that painted a trail down to the body and reckoned it was a toss up whether the law would be called in or if the patrons would seek their own brand of justice. In the event of either, someone should stick with the kid, lest he put his foot in it and get into worse trouble. He was their navigator and their best way off this rock. If they had to make a quick getaway, she'd rather it be with someone they knew--even as marginally known as their flight from Persephone afforded--than someone they had to hire on the fly.

At this point Jay had become little more than a spectator. He looked on, horrified as the rest of his crew when an utter giant came walking toward the fray - the relief was palpable when the big man flung the attacker across the room. “Shit,” Jay uttered, wincing when he saw the body collide with the wall.
Ilana cried, "What in the actual fuck? Why is it that every time we try to celebrate any damn thing, someone has to get the shit kicked out of them?"
Jay looked over at Jace, who returned his glance. Jace gave him a nod, making sure he was okay. Jay returned it, smiling at him. He lifted his drink to the captain, and downed the rest of it. He said, “It’s good thing y’all are some rowdy and capable húndàn.”
Helios stormed out, followed closely by Rina. A concerned look drew over Jay’s face as he watched the newest crew member walk out. His medic training kicked in and he began listing all the ways in his head that a blow that bad could cause damage down the road. “I’m going to go check on Helios,” Jay said. He set his shot glass down and made his way out to the bar.
Jay stepped out into the cold, not bothering to close up his jacket. He looked around for the pink-headed crew mate. Once he found Helios, Jay walked over and waved.
“Hey,” Jay said, “Are you alright?” Wow, what a dumb question. Jay retaliated to himself, so he added, “I mean, obviously not, but I wanted to check on you. That was nasty back there.”

Helios watched Rina come out but kept quiet, he was pissed and colder now realizing there was alcohol dripping from his face, he wiped most of it off and became aware that Jay had also walked out.
"Hey, are you alright?" Jay said, his face showed he was aware of how stupid that question was, "I mean, obviously not, but I wanted to check on you. That was nasty back there." Helios looked at Jay for a moment deciding whether or not to tell Jay to fuck off out of anger and a bit of pain, his shoulder did hurt, but Helios cooled his head.
"I'll be fine." Helios pulled out his garrote and ran his finger along it, he hadn't realized how much he missed his friend.

Rina leaned against the wall and watched as Jay and Helios checked in with each other. If she had any thoughts on the matter, she wasn't forthcoming. Instead, she crossed her arms, put a foot up on the building, and kept her eye on the street. In her experience, cons didn't always work alone but came in groups of two or more. She hadn't forgotten that the redhead had screamed out of the bar in a hurry and it still wasn't certain if she would return with reinforcements. If that happened, Rina felt it best to at least be in a position to see it coming and from there, warn the rest of the crew.

"Dear Captain I do believe you enjoy tian fan di fu or this crew just attracts alot of it," Jace said and she grimaced.
"My good man, I believe it's a bit of both," Ilana said back to him as he downed Helios's drink. He looked like he wanted to vomit.
Jay said, “It’s good thing y’all are some rowdy and capable húndàn.”
"Anyone see where that hu li jing went?" He said, obviously gagging on whatever hell was in that glass.
"You mean that redheaded suka? Don't know, don't care," Rina said, obviously finding the woman distasteful. Then she smiled, handing the snake over to Helios, "You might want to put your snake away, sir. You're scaring the women and children."
Ilana laughed at the obviously dirty joke as Helios snatched the snake from Rina, then stormed out of the bar.
"Captain?" Rina called softly. "If it's all right, I think I'll go get some air."
Ilana nodded, and said "Aye.
“I’m going to go check on Helios,” Jay said, and followed Rina and Helios.
Ilana set her glass on the table and looked to Jace. "I think it's time we get the hell out of here. It's not likely the Alliance would be out here, but this town has local authorities. We need to get out of here before they arrive to collect from the guy who may or may not be dead on the wall by the door."
She headed for the door. From behind her she heard the bartender call, "What am I supposed to do with the possibly dead guy over there?"
Without turning around she said, "I didn't put him there. Not my problem."
Ilana walked outside, cursing herself internally for not putting her gloves on first. She pulled them on roughly and yanked on her knitted cap as though they had personally offended her and went to where Helios and Jay stood.
"Hey there. Sorry I hit you in there. It wasn't intentional, honest. If I wanted to hit you, I wouldn't be so covert about it. I'd just hit you and worry about the consequences later," she said to Helios, stopping when she realized she was rambling a bit. She thought for a moment that maybe she wasn't conveying the message she wanted to get across quite the way she wanted to. "That didn't sound at all outloud like it did in my head," she admitted. "I didn't hit you on purpose. That's all. I'm going back to the ship. Ya'll would do well to do the same before the local authorities get here and make our lives hell."
