Eden, Omega Docking Slip #4 July 8th, 2518 AST: 6:30 PM
Ilana left the galley, headed toward Helios's bunk, not really sure what she was going to find when she got there. His condition appeared to be getting worse, and she needed to assess whether he was more of a danger to those leaving or those that would be left behind.
She knocked on Helios's door. He was expecting her, but that didn't mean he wouldn't make her wait. He might also think she's someone else and get all paranoid, she thought with a sigh. "It's Ilana," she called to avoid that possibility.

Helios sat on a rolly stool, a pair of micro repair glasses on, as he combined the wiring from the breaches charge on the table in front of him with the sticky he'd attached to the charge. He pulled his head up and lifted the glasses, taking a look at the Encyclopedia next to him, that was giving him the information to do what he was doing. Helios felt Theodore the snake move a bit on his neck where he layed, Helios reached up and rubbed the snakes head a little. The snake gave a short rattle but was otherwise content. He read the Encyclopedia a little more before returning and settling it up to run the stick first, then the charge. With any luck it would work as wanted but he wouldn't be able to know till he could test it but that wasn't possible as the ship was not an ideal location to set off a bomb.
"Hello!" Njord said in the ear of Helios, causing him to tense up.
"Fuck off." Helios told him bluntly as the fish began to flap around.
"Don't be like that, it was just a joke." The fish laughed as Helios pulled back from what he was doing, tossing the glasses on the table, Theodore tensed up and began to rattle his tail.
"Thanks to you, I look insane and you keep popping up whenever is the most inconvenient. At first I found you to be a neat side effect but now your just a nuisance that's gonna get me tossed in a nut house, I've got half a mind to-" a knock came from his door cutting Helios off, he lowered his voice.
Scram." He told Njord and the fish vanished. Helios sighed as he sat back down and began petting the snake's head again, calming him down at least a little.
"It's Ilana." The captains voice rang out, he knew the talk was coming from the minute the fork hit the table. Helios didn't know how to rationally think about what was happening to him, he hadn't talked to anybody about this really, keeping his cards close to his chest.
"Come in." He hollered.

"Come in." He hollered, quicker than she'd expected. She entered the room a bit cautiously, taking in the room in its entirety before stepping inside and closing the door behind her. She hoped that wasn't a mistake, but she felt it was important for Helios to know she still trusted him, at least as much as his crazy ass could be trusted to begin with. He'd been a bit of a wildcard from the beginning, but this was different, and she was fairly certain they both knew it.
He sat at his desk petting his snake. She hoped he didn't scent Reggie on her. He was a rat… prey to a snake. She knew he had his venom glands removed, but getting bit still hurts like a sonofabitch. Behind him on the desk were a pair of delicate repair glasses, made for precision work. The glasses were haphazardly tossed among a pile of debris that strongly looked like he was building a bomb. She raised a brow, but didn't say anything about it.
Instead, she sat down in an oddly shaped rolling chair that looked exceptionally uncomfortable, but was actually quite nice. If he dies on Deadwood, I'm taking this chair, she thought.
"I imagine you know why I'm here," she said. "You've been a mite strange for as long as I've known you, but… it's been different since the mushrooms. Doctor Kim said you are experiencing residual hallucinations. I need you to be honest with me and tell me exactly how often this is happening, how distracting it is, and whether you believe you're a danger to anyone, including yourself."

Helios watched the captain enter the room, the rattling of Theodore's tail came as he tried to slip off his shoulders. Helios grabbed him and slipped him in his cage, tossing in a couple thawed dead mice in there for him. Theodore Immediately struck one of the dead mice and began his eating process as Helios put the lid on and stacking a heavy box on it. Helios noticed Ilana raising an eyebrow at his bomb, ah probably should mention somthing like that to the captain he thought as she took a seat in a chair.
"I imagine you know why I'm here," she said. "You've been a mite strange for as long as I've known you, but… it's been different since the mushrooms. Doctor Kim said you are experiencing residual hallucinations. I need you to be honest with me and tell me exactly how often this is happening, how distracting it is, and whether you believe you're a danger to anyone, including yourself." Ilana voice felt like venom, not because of what she was saying but because of how he felt. He could handle himself if needed to without paying the hallucination any attention, but for how long? That's what bothered him.
"Majority of when I'm concious and when the situation isn't life or death and it's simply in a space like this," He pointed to the ship, "or the nightclub it's very distracting, I feel partially mad but if the situation requires it I can focus on what needs to be done without problems." He told the captain, currently he wasn't a harm to anyone but the dickheads they were on the way to kill.
"I understand that that's not mighty convincing given the circumstance." Helios added as he understood she was asking if he was a risk to the lives of those going on this mission.

Theodore started to rattle, startling her a bit, but he swiftly put the creature in its cage, giving it some dead mice to snack on. She wasn't particularly bothered by that, despite having a pet rat. Ted's gotta eat too, she thought.
His response was considerably more coherent than his replies in the galley had been. Based on what he was telling her, that was largely because he didn't have anything in particular to focus on. "I understand that that's not mighty convincing given the circumstance," he added at the end.
She shook her head. "I think you misunderstand my intent here. I'm not here to be your mom. You're a grown man, capable of making his own decisions. If you say you're good, that you can have my six while we're under fire, I'll take you at your word til you give me a reason not to."

Helios nodded in appreciation as the conversation went smoother than he thought it would.
"Thanks." He responded, long as he didn't give her a reason, a task that he could handle he thought to himself.

She nodded, acknowledging his thanks wordlessly. He still seemed himself, mostly, now that he had something to really focus on.
"It's getting worse though... Isn't it?" she asked gently. There was no judgement in her voice.
