General Skills Jackie is a very talented musician. She plays both the piano and the violin. She is very studious and very smart, and has a habit of dabbling into things that she doesn’t know about so that she can expand her mind.
Talents Jackie’s main stay is her observant personality. She takes in everything, and comes to a conclusions fairly quickly while retaining it. She likes to keep an open mind when learning new things, and that is why she is constantly reading. She enjoys older texts, as well as newer ones. She is equally interested in music. She plays piano and the violin, but takes quite an interest in playing the violin in the unorthodox fashion. She also has dabbled into the banjo from time to time. She is a very nice and polite person, and will rarely say bad things about anyone.
Flaws Jackie takes after her dad in more ways than her mother would like. She is overly calculating at times. She isn’t the most trusting person, and at times strives to come out on top too much. She gives credit to those who are able to do things for themselves, but doesn’t think ill of those who cannot. She isn’t very physically strong, but she has no need to be. She also isn’t a very good cook, but is fairly good at handling other household chores.
History: Jackie was born on October 16, 2503. She was born on Beaumonde. Her mother Heather and Bishop Morse had both gotten married fairly young, and not quite thinking it through. Heather was known to be pregnant several weeks in. However things between them spiraled out of control, and they got divorced only weeks after the marriage. After her birth, there was a particularly brutal custody battle, but she was put in the care of her mother. Her mothers parents did have a lot of financial assets as her grandfather owned a manufacturer on Beaumonde, so she was placed with her, though she was never quite made aware of the fact that it was only so her mothers parents wouldn’t cut her off from the funds. In spite of this though, she did retain her father’s name.
Jackie then began life with her mother, who was now Heather Sluthburg again. She wasn’t able to see her father very often, only twelve times a year total. This wasn’t a bad arrangement, but it did make things difficult at times. By the time she was three years old, her father went off to fight in the Unification War. Around this same time, her mother stopped working entirely, to live off her parent’s money. She was too young to understand why her father was going off to fight, but she grew up in those years without any personal contact. Instead she would receive cortex transmissions periodically. The first of them weren’t much more then funny faces, and things similar to it. But as she got older, he began to send her transmissions of him playing the piano, and talking to her about things that she was doing.
Jackie was rather sheltered from what was happening in the rest of the Star System, as they were very terrible times. The news was always awful, talking about the battles, which were raging on far away planets. And as time went on, transmissions from her father got fewer and fewer. There wasn’t any explanation as to why, but eventually Alliance troops took Beaumonde, but life did not change on the planet.
When Jackie was nine years old, she took up her first instrument, the violin. She took quite well to it, and she had a very good teacher. Her mother at this point was starting to drift away from her as well. She seemed to pretend that she was younger then she was, and paraded around like someone without responsibilities. She was just living off her parents money, and pretending she was independent. They lived in a middle class home near the ocean. Jackie always enjoyed the ocean, and living near it. It helped calm her. After getting having played the violin and gotten to know it very well, she moved on to the piano. She began to love the instrument, but her favorite remained the violin.
By this time the Unification War had ended, and as a result, Jackie’s father was able to step back into her life. He didn’t seem any different then when the war had begun, and in a way he was a happier. He was able to see her more often as her mother was constantly going out and about doing whatever she felt like. Her father was now the captain of a transport vessel. From time to time she was even aloud to go on the occasional voyage with him and the crew. She got to know the crew fairly well, and they took a liking to her. She was always a very interesting change of pace, and they would teach her different things about their various about what they did. Bobo taught her some simple medical procedures, while Hoffman would show her different things about the ship engines.
Jacky retained much of it, and it made her want to expand her knowledge of things. When she was at home she would read and research a great variety of subjects. She had a fascination with literature, but was also fond of mathematics as well. And all the while she continued on with music. She always enjoyed it when her dad made port at Beaumonde though and she would get to see him and her dad’s friends, especially her “Uncle Ray”, who always had such colorful stories. But as time went on, she began to get a bit distant from her mother, more so at least. She was always running around with her friends, and it was putting a serious strain on her. They would fight from time to time, because her mom found her to be a bit too much like her dad. And as a result they spent a lot of a time away from each other.
Jackie is still “living” with her mother, though the two hardly see each other due to the fact she kept running around pretending like she doesn’t have responsibilities. She keeps in great contact with her father, Bishop, who she considered her only real parent. Though he is constantly away, she has a great connection with him and loves him very much. She always can’t wait for the next time she gets to go on her dads big ship, the Logan, and see distant planets. And all the while, she continues to play music and learn things so that she can make something of herself eventually.
